Terms & Conditions of Volunteering at Soap Cycling

General Guidelines and Safety Precautions

  • Wear close-toed shoes with good grip. No sandals or flip flops are allowed.

  • Dress comfortably and accordingly as it may get a little bit dirty.

  • Masks and gloves will be provided on site and should be worn.

  • No eating in the warehouse.

  • Bring your own water or drinks.

  • No locker will be provided. Mind your own belongings and avoid bringing valuables.

  • Please pay attention when handling soap scraping and cutting tools. Ask Soap Cycling staff for proper scraping techniques.

  • Do not sit on any boxes (you may sit on chairs that are available in the warehouse).

  • Children aged below 12 are not allowed. Children aged between 12 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Should you feel any discomfort or encounter injury, please report to the person-in-charge immediately.

  • Maintain good posture when working.

Waiver and Release of All Claims and Assumption of Risk

​​​In consideration for providing volunteer services, you are expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you may sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected and associated with your volunteer services.


As a volunteer, you recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to volunteers in this program/activity, and you voluntarily agree to assume all risk of any injuries, damages, or loss - regardless of severity - that you may sustain as a result of your volunteer services. You further agree to waive and relinquish all claims you may have (or accrue to you) as a result of your volunteer services against Soap Cycling, including its officers, officials, agents, volunteers and employees (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Parties”).


You do hereby fully release and forever discharge the Parties from any and all claims for injuries, damages, or loss that you may have or which may accrue to you and arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated with your volunteer services. You have read and fully understand the above important information, warning of risk, assumption of risk, and waiver and release of all claims.

Personal Information Collection Statement

Soap Cycling will use your personal data for internal administrative use and to deliver information about our latest news and activities to you. Data collected may also be used for compilation of statistics, but the resulting statistics will not in any form reveal your identity and your personal data. In addition, we may take photos or video recordings during volunteer sessions for promotional purposes without any cash considerations or payments.


The provision of your personal data is voluntary. However, your name and signature are mandatory for acknowledging the above waivers and statements. For volunteers aged below 18, your parent’s signature is also mandatory to constitute a legitimate parent’s consent.


Soap Cycling will only use your personal data for the aforementioned purposes. We will not disclose, transfer, sell, trade or rent your data to any third parties without your consent.

Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you have a right to access, and correct your personal data and to opt-out from receiving our information materials. If you wish to exercise these rights, please send an email request to info@soapcycling.org.
